CLARION, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Using a late push over the final half-mile of the race, North Clarion runners took the second, third and fourth spots behind winner Jonas Wilshire of Clarion to edge the Bobcats, 24-31, to remain undefeated this season.

Wilshire placed first with a time of 18 minutes, 28.61 seconds. But Gabriel Fair was second (18:41.44), Jackson Nicewonger third (18:42.23) and Aiden Thomas fourth (18:42.23) for the Wolves to help clinch the narrow victory.
Hayden Weber was fifth (18:57.27) and Josh Turner sixth (19:26.49) for Clarion.
Dane Sliker, Dean Sliker for North Clarion were seventh and eighth. Ben Lambert and Caleb Turner of Clarion rounded out the top 10.
On the girls side, North Clarion freshman Abby Hastings won again, finishing in 23:44.29. Her teammate, Adeline Best, was second at 27:30.80.
Raven Cunningham was Clarion’s top finisher, placing third at 28:35.63.
The race was not scored as neither team had enough runners.
KARNS CITY 22, MONITEAU 33 (GIRLS); BOYS NOT SCORED
Moniteau’s Alexis Kirschner won the girls race with a time of 23:14, but Karns City runners claimed the next four places to earn a narrow victory.
Miley Mooney was second for the Gremlins at 23:35, followed by Sophia Bonetto (25:28), Adalyn Jones (26:24) and Kiley Preston (27:12).
On the boys side, Moniteau freshman Peyton Beck was the winner with a time of 19:15. Karns City’s Dillan Stroup was second at 19:39 with his Gremlin teammate, freshman Noah Weiland third at 19:50.
