Bradford Boys, Girls Soccer Teams Snare District 9 Class 3A Soccer Titles

BROCKWAY, Pa. (EYT/D9) – The Bradford boys soccer team scored in the first minute.

It took a little longer for the Bradford girls to find the back of the net.

The outcomes, however, were the same for both teams – District 9 Class 3A titles.

Lucas Johnson scored the only goal the Owls would need against Clearfield less than a minute into the match at Brockway Monday night to help Bradford to a 2-0 win and a district crown.

Meanwhile, the Bradford girls team took a little longer to take control against DuBois. The Owls scored all three of their goals in the second half for a 3-0 win and fourth-consecutive district title.

Marissa Miller finally broke the scoreless stalemate with a goal in the 58th minute.

The Owls added two more goals late to secure the win.

In the boys match, Jake Franz tacked on an insurance goal in the 78th minute for Bradford.

When the teams returned home, they were escorted by a police car as a smattering of fans who lined Main Street at close to midnight cheered them on.
