Central Clarion Softball Opens Up New Clarion-Limestone/Clarion Co-op With a Win; Burrows, Radaker Each Go Deep in Karns City Victory

DuBOIS, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Samantha Simpson went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and five RBIs to lead a 16-hit attack as the Central Clarion softball team — in its first game as the co-op between Clarion-Limestone and Clarion — downed Union/A-C Valley, 21-7, on Wednesday afternoon.

Alyssa Wiant also had three hits, including two doubles, and knocked in three. Jenna Dunn went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and five runs scored for the Wildcats.

Dunn also picked up the win in the circle, going all five innings, fanning seven, walking two and surrendering just two earned runs.

Abby Knapp-Greeley and Kaylee Smith also had triples for Central Clarion.

Maddy Dehart had two RBIs for Union/A-C Valley.

Kya Wetzel and Alivya Hartzell each had doubles for the Falcon Knights.

KARNS CITY 11, REDBANK VALLEY 6

Addison Burrows and Ronni Radaker each homered and Burrows also doubled and was the winning pitcher for the Gremlins.

Burrows was 2-for-4 with three runs scored. She went all seven in the circle, striking out seven and walking three while giving up just two earned runs for Karns City (1-2).

Lyrik Reed went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Jada Polczynski and Haley Sherman also doubled for the Gremlins.

Keyauna Schimp had a pair of hits and a RBI for the Bulldogs.

Izzy Bond, Alara Altobeli and Bella Orr each doubled for Redbank Valley (0-2).

DuBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 13, BROCKWAY 0

Rylee Kulbatsky struck out 11 in a five-inning perfect game to lead the Cardinals.

Kulbatsky got plenty of offense to back her.

Kali Franklin homered and Lauren Davidson had a pair of hits and knocked in three for DuBois Central Catholic (1-0).

Lexi Berta also had a multi-hit game for the Cardinals.
