Brookville 62, Ellwood City 60
A steal and score by Brookville’s Jace Miner with 10 seconds to go turned the tables on Ellwood City, allowing Brookville to advance to the PIAA semifinals with a 62-60 win. After the Raiders turned the ball over to give Ellwood City a chance to score the winning bucket, Miner swiped the inbounds pass and finished down low to give the Raiders a two-point lead with 10 seconds remaining. On the next defensive possession, Miner rejected an Ellwood City layup to preserve the lead and give Brookville a place in the PIAA Semis.
The game was extremely tight throughout, with the lead changing often and neither team gaining an advantage during the first three quarters. Brookville had a narrow two-point lead at the half, but Ellwood City entered the fourth quarter tied with the Raiders.
Jace Miner led all players with 28 points for Brookville. Hunter Geer and Griffin Rhulman each scored nine for Brookville. Joseph Roth led Ellwood City with a 22-point effort.
Brookville will advance to face Bishop Guilfoyle at Brookville on Tuesday at 6:30.
