Clarion Outlasts Moniteau; Keystone Downs Union on the Road; Clarion-Limestone Keeps Rolling

CLARION, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Gabe Simko scored 17 points as the Clarion boys basketball team pulled ahead of Moniteau in the second half on the way to a 48-41 victory on Thursday night.

Dawson Smail added 11 points and Devon Lauer 10 for the Bobcats, who trailed 21-20 at the half.

Simko scored six points in the third quarter as Clarion took a 35-32 advantage into the fourth.

Devon Lauer added 10 points — eight coming in the final eight minutes.

He was held scoreless at the half.

Smail also had eight rebounds, six assists and five steals for Clarion (9-3).

Chason Delarosa-Rugg led Moniteau with 13 points.

David Martino chipped in 11 for the Warriors.

KEYSTONE 52, UNION 44

Kyle Nellis scored 15 points and Tyler Albright pitched in 13 as the Panthers won on the road.

Keystone led 26-23 at the half, but Union pulled ahead by a point, 32-31, heading into the final quarter.

But Nellis scored eight of his points in the fourth and Drew Keth hit two huge 3-pointers in the frame to help the Panthers regain the lead and pull away.

Aidan Sell also scored nine points for Keystone.

Payton Johnston led Union with 18 points. He also had three steals and three assists.

Dawson Camper pulled down 13 rebounds for the Golden Knights.

A-C VALLEY 50, CRANBERRY 48

Jay Clover scored 17 points and Alex Preston added 10 as the Falcons used a fast start to hold on for a win over the Berries.

A-C Valley led by eight early, but Cranberry was able to cut into the lead, drawing to 28-26 at the half.

Ethan Merryman led the Berries with 15 points. Seth Schwab added 13.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 76, NORTH CLARION 54

Jordan Hesdon scored 17 points and the Lions kept on rolling with this win over the Wolves.

Jase Ferguson also had a big night for Clarion-Limestone with 14 points, five assists, four steals and five rebounds. Jack Callen pitched in 13 points for the Lions.

Aiden Hartle led the way for North Clarion with 28 points.

Clarion-Limestone improved to 10-1 this season.
