Coudy Girls Claim Fifth Straight NTL Title; Bway Upsets Redbank Valley; Brookville Beats ECC

AUSTIN, Pa. – Sarah Chambers and Lauren Stimaker combined to score 25 points and 12 Coudersport players etched their names in the scorebook, as the visiting Lady Falcons claimed their fifth straight NTL title with a 59-24 win over Austin.

Chambers led all scorers with 13 points with Stimaker adding 12 for Coudersport, which improved to 15-0 in league play and 17-4 overall

Mikayla Gunn added nine points in the win.

Kylie Welsh led Austin with seven points with Taylor Brewer adding six.

BROCKWAY 44, REDBANK VALLEY 43

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Using a strong third quarter and quality free-throw shooting down the stretch, Brockway upset Redbank Valley, 44-43.

Down three, 23-20, at halftime, the Lady Rovers rallied to take a 32-30 lead going to the fourth quarter on the strength of five points from Morgan Lindemuth and four from Macie Smith.

Then Brockway hit 5 of 6 free throws in the final 1:30 to take a 44-41 before giving up a harmless layup to Redbank Valley with three seconds left.

Lindemuth and Danielle Wood each scored 13 points for the Lady Rovers with Lindemuth adding eight rebounds and six assists.

Smith chipped in eight points and eight rebounds with Selena Buttery adding seven points, 14 rebounds and eight blocked shots before fouling out.

Tara Hinderliter paced Redbank Valley with 15 points, although Brockway head coach Dick Esposito praised the defensive effort on her by Ciara Morelli and Wood.

Caylen Rearick added eight points for the Lady Bulldogs with Madison Foringer and Lauren Smith each scoring seven.

BROOKVILLE 53, ELK CO. CATHOLIC 32

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Three players reached double-figure scoring and Brookville led from start to finish in ending its five-game losing streak with a 53-32 win over Elk County Catholic in D9 League action.

Morgan Johnson scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, Morgan Johnson scored 12 points and Marcy Schindler turned in a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Lady Raiders led 27-12 by halftime as ECC missed 20 of its 23 first-half shots from the field.

Taylor Newton led the Lady Crusaders with 14 points and 13 rebounds, going 6-for-15 from the free-throw line. Brooke Bauer scored all 11 of her points in the third quarter.
