Curl Helps Moniteau Girls Past DuBois; Clarion Boys Pull Away From DuBois Central Catholic

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Cheyenne Curl had a big night with nine rebounds, four assists and five steals and Kendall Sankey scored 17 points to lead the Moniteau girls basketball team to a 56-27 victory over DuBois on Monday night.

Catherine Kelly added 15 and Allie Pry 11 to lead a balanced scoring attack for the Warriors (6-1).

Sophia Fleeger added seven and Curl pitched in four points for Moniteau.

DuBois was led by 15 from Lynx Lander.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 65, KANE 29

Lucy Klawuhn scored 29 points — including seven 3-pointers — to key a Crusader victory.

Syd Alexander added 15 points for unbeaten ECC (5-0).

PUNXSUTAWNEY 53, CLARION 31

Danielle Griebel had a double-double of 12 points and 10 assists and Avary Powell poured in 18 points to lift the Chucks.

Taylor Alston scored 16 points to pace Clarion.

KEYSTONE 45, UNION/A-C VALLEY 27

Ava Patrick led the way for the Panthers with 12 points.

Isabella Brandon pitched in 10 and Ashlee Albright nine for Keystone, which evened its record to 3-3.

Maddy Dehart scored 13 points to lead Union/A-C Valley.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Clarion pulled away late with a fourth-quarter run to topple DuBois Central Clarion, 56-50.

Dawson Smail keyed the win for the Bobcats with 12 points. He also had eight steals for the Bobcats (5-1).

Devon Lauer led Clarion with 13 points.

Gabe Simko also scored 12 for Clarion while Bryce Brinkley chipped in 10 and Owen Kriebel nine for the balanced Bobcats.

Andrew Green scored 17 points to lead DCC.

OIL CITY 51, CLARION-LIMESTONE 45

Ethen Knox scored 14 points to lead the Oilers to the triumph.

Jack Craig scored 12 points, Jack Cullen 11 and Jase Ferguson eight for the Lions.
