Duncan Leads Cranberry SB to Win; KC, DCC Baseball Get Win Powered by Knox Country Farm Supply

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Emily Duncan’s fifth-inning grand slam highlighted an eight-run fifth inning for Cranberry, as the Berries went on the road and beat Karns City 12-3 at Diehl Stadium at Karns City High School Tuesday.

In all, Emily Duncan drove in five runs for Cranberry while Libby Kiefer was 1-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs, Natalie Barcinas 1-for-2 with a double, three walks, two runs scored and an RBI, Andrea Watson 1-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and n RBI, Rachel McCauley 2-for-3 with a run scored, Malliah Schreck 2-for-4 with a run scored and Hannah Duncan 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

Watson got the win going seven innings allowing three runs, one earned, on five hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out 11.

Mackenzie Dunn was 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI for Karns City with Alyssa Stitt going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Mackenzie Shay also had a double for the Lady Gremlins.

KARNS CITY 13, CRANBERRY 7

BUTLER, Pa. – Steve O’Donnell and Logan Pistorius combined for five hits, including two doubles and two triples, three RBIs, four runs scored to lead Karns City to a 13-7 win over visiting Cranberry at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler.

O’Donnell was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs scored and two RBIs with Pistorius going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, a run scored and an RBI.

Also for the Gremlins, Nolan Riley was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs, Colton Hutchinson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, Connor Schaffner was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Brandon Hesidence was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Trevor Gladin went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Cranberry with Brandon Forrest chipping in a walk, three RBIs and two runs scored and Hunter O’Neal and Matt McQuaide each scoring twice.

Riley got the win going five-plus innings allowing five runs, two earned, on three hits and four walks while striking out nine. Pistorius then went two innings allowing two unearned runs on two hits and two walks.

Thomas Flinspach took the loss allowing five runs, one earned, on five hits and a walk in two innings of work. Gladin went 3 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, four earned, on six hits and a walk while striking out two. Forrest finished off going ⅔ of an innings allowing two runs on two hits and a walk.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 15, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 0, 3 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Justin Miknis had a pair of doubles, a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs to help DuBois Central Catholic to a 15-0, three-inning win over visiting Elk County Catholic at City Park in DuBois.

Brandon Walker added three RBIs despite not having a hit for the Cardinals. He walked twice, scored once and had a sacrifice fly.

Damon Foster also doubled and scored for DCC with Garrett Prosper going 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored, Thomas Grecco going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, Anthony Kness going 1-for-1 with two walks, two runs scored and four RBIs and Noah Bloom walking three times and scoring twice.

Domenic Toretti got the win going three innings allowing one hit and two hit batters while striking out one in three innings of work.

Alex Fedus had the lone hit for ECC, a double.

Brady Schneider took the loss allowing eight runs, all earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out one in one-plus inning of work. Alec Wehler went 1 ⅔ innings allowing seven runs, all earned, on six hits and five walks.

A nine-run second inning was the big inning for DCC.
