HERSHEY, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Elk County Catholic junior Grace Neubert, coming off her District 9 Class A girls cross country championship last week, placed sixth at the PIAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

Neubert finished with a time of 20:11.0.
Virginia Kraus of Moravian Academy won the state title, breaking the tape in 18:53.8.
Neubert wasn’t the only top 10 finisher for ECC.
Junior Sophia Bille placed ninth with a time of 20:25.5 to help the Crusaders to a fifth-place finish as a team.
Other runners for ECC were Gianna Bille, Sami Straub, Katie Petrosky, Isabella Macer and Caitlyn Vollmer.
Cheyenne Mehl, a senior at Oswayo Valley, was 11th overall with a time of 20:42.6.

In Class A boys, Kevin Sherry, a junior at Coudersport, placed fourth with a time of 17:00.4.

The District 9 champion, Sherry was leading the race after one mile.
Thomas Smigo of Palisades in District 11 won with a time of 16:33.4.
Brookville, which won its first D9 title since 2000, finished ninth as a team.
Cranberry was 14th.
In Class 2A girls, D9 champ Gabby Pistner, a sophomore at St. Marys, finished 12th overall with a time of 20:15.8.
St. Marys finished seventh as a team.

In Class 2A boys, Bradford senior Manny Diaz placed sixth with a time of 16:36.0.
