KARNS CITY, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Naomi Venesky scored 16 points and the Karns City girls basketball team used a big second half to pull away from Clarion for a 42-26 home win on Thursday night.
All 16 of Venesky’s points came in the first three quarters as the Gremlins led 32-16.
Karns City was up 17-10 at the half, but scored 15 in the third.
Taylor Alston scored seven points to lead Clarion.
Savanna Prescott added nine and Chloe Fritch eight for the Gremlins.
NORTH CLARION 52, KEYSTONE 18
Lily Homan scored 22 points and Brooke Steinman added 15 to lead the Wolves.
North Clarion used a 24-2 run in the second quarter to take a commanding lead.
Emma Gruber scored six points to lead Keystone.
CRANBERRY 43, FOREST 36
Avery Coe scored eight points to lead a balanced attack for the Berries.
Amber Guzzi scored 20 points to pace the Fires.
Kaylie Rooke added nine points, eight rebounds and eight blocked shots for Forest.
