Lauer Helps Lead Clarion to Another Win; Taylor Shines as Karns City Topples Cranberry

CLARION, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Devon Lauer scored 18 points as Clarion used balanced scoring again in taking down Rocky Grove, 68-44, on Tuesday night.

Lauer keyed a second-quarter explosion of points for the Bobcats, turning a narrow 9-8 lead into a 34-18 advantage at the half.

Gabe Simko scored 11 points, Owen Kriebel added 10 and Bryce Brinkley nine as Clarion again had 10 players score at least two points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Brooklyn Taylor scored 15 points as Karns City downed Cranberry, 54-24.

She scored 12 of those points in the third quarter to put the game away.

Naomi Venesky also reached double figures with 10 points for the Gremlins.

Elena Garland paced Cranberry with 10.

DuBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 54, MONITEAU 46

Kayley Risser scored 14 points to lead the Cardinals to a home victory over the Warriors.

Jess Frank added 11 points and Marina Hanes 10 for DCC.

Catherine Kelly shined again for Moniteau, scoring a game-high 24 points.

Kendall Sankey added nine points and nine rebounds for the Warriors.
