ROUNDUP: Big Night for Meah Ielase Lifts A-C Valley Volleyball to Sweep


PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT/D9) – Meah Ielase had 13 kills and 14 digs to help lead the A-C Valley volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-12, 25-22 sweep of Punxsutawney Wednesday night.

Lexi Ruckdeschel also continued her strong play. The junior pitched in seven kills and 11 digs for the surging Falcons, who have won three matches in a row after having a pause put on their season after a Memorial Day weekend tournament.

Jenna Stefanacci came up huge at service line and as a setter against the Chucks. The junior recorded 16 points and also ran the offense well with 19 assists.

Paige Klinger contributed 15 service points, four aces and six kills in the victory for the Falcons.

Boys Soccer

Jacob Callihan and Lathan Price each scored two goals as Karns City cruised to an 8-0 blanking of Forest.

Mallick Metcalfe, Colson Ritzert, Seth Bishop and Dave King also tallied goals for the Gremlins, while Adam Smith had two assists.

Girls Soccer

McKenna Martin continued her torrid season with four more goals as Karns City blitzed Forest, 6-1.

Lyrik Reed and Emma Dailey also scored for the Gremlins (5-1). Ally Fennell had two assists and Maddy Gibsonb, Cece Morrow and Emmy Rice also pitched in assists in the victory.

Through six games, Martin now has 19 goals.
