RIDGWAY 43, JOHNSONBURG 26

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Johnny Mitchell and Daunte Allegretto each scored 10 points to lift Ridgway to a 43-26 win over Johnsonburg in the opening round of the Elk County Tournament at St. Marys.

Neil MacDonald added nine tallies for the Elkers, who used a six-point second-quarter advantage to take a 15-8 halftime lead and then outscored Johnsonburg 17-8 in the fourth quarter.

Ben Freeburg paced the Rams with 11 points. Austin Green added eight.

Ridgway faces Elk County Catholic in Saturday’s title game with Johnsonburg taking on St. Marys in the consolation contest.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 64, ST. MARYS 56

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Alex Breindel scored seven of his 12 points in the fourth quarter to help Elk County Catholic break a 42-all tie heading to the final eight minutes and gain a 64-56 win over St. Marys in the opening round of the Elk County Tournament at St. Marys.

Brady Schneider also scored six of his team-best 14 points in the final quarter for ECC, while Ryan Newton added 13 points for the Crusaders, who trailed, 26-25, at halftime.

Nathan Schneider led St. Marys with a game-high 23 points with all 23 coming in the first three quarters. Jared Groll added 20 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter when he hit three of his four 3-pointers.

ECC faces Ridgway in Saturday’s title game with St. Marys taking on Johnsonburg in the consolation contest.

MERCYHURST PREP 46, CURWENSVILLE 32

FREEPORT, Pa. – Alex Miklinski and Jacob Brooks each scored 13 points to lead Mercyhurst Prep past Curwensville, 46-32, in the consolation game of the Freeport Christmas Tournament.

Griffin Herron chipped in 12 points for the Lakers.

Christian Bakaysa led Curwensville with 10 points with Josh Terry and Devon Barrett each adding nine tallies.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 58, NORTHGATE 43

RURAL VALLEY, Pa. – Tournament MVP Ian Callen scored 15 points and hauled down 13 rebounds to lead Clarion-Limestone to a 58-43 win over Northgate in the title game of the West Shamokin Holiday Tournament.

Christian Smith, who also made the all-tournament team, had a team-high 18 points for the Lions with Hayden Callen adding nine points and 11 rebounds and Deion Deas nine points.

Raylan Whetsell had a game-high 19 points for Northgate.

WEST SHAMOKIN 53, KARNS CITY 43

RURAL VALLEY, Pa. – Drew Orlosky, Ethan Libegood and Tyler Lightcap combined to score 43 points to lead West Shamokin to a 53-43 win over Karns City in the consolation game of the West Shamokin Holiday Tournament.

Orlosky led the Wolves with 16 points, Libegood added 14 and Lightcap 13.

Logan Pistorius had 12 points for Karns City with Chase Beighley adding 10 points, Austin Fahlor with eight points and Nolan Riley six points and eight rebounds.

BROOKVILLE 65, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 48

DUBOIS, Pa. – Bryan Dworek had 17 points to pace Brookville to a 65-48 win over DuBois Central Catholic in the opening round of the DuBois Holiday Tournament.

AJ Lachnicht added 12 points for the Raiders with Trenton Gilhousen adding 11, Jack Krug nine and Aaron Park eight.

Justin Miknis paced DCC with 19 points with Thomas Grecco adding 16.

Brookville will take on Brockway in Saturday’s title game with DCC facing DuBois in the consolation contest.

BROCKWAY 50, DUBOIS 47

DUBOIS, Pa. – Carter Adams netted 15 points to help Brockway rally past DuBois, 50-47, in the opening round of the DuBois Holiday Tournament.

The Rovers trailed 24-21 at halftime and 36-35 going to the fourth quarter.

Anthony Esposito added 13 points for Brockway with Noah Vokes chipping in eight points.

Justin Manduley led DuBois with 16 points with Kenny Garvey adding 14 points.

Brockway takes on Brookville in Saturday’s title game with DuBois facing DuBois Central Catholic in the consolation contest.

OLEAN (N.Y.) 55, BRADFORD 40

ALLEGANY, N.Y. – Mike Schmidt and Jarrett Prizel each scored 14 points to lead Olean (N.Y.) to a 55-40 win over Bradford in the opening round of the IAABO Tournament at Allegany-Limestone (N.Y.).

Brian Ramarge chipped in 11 points for the Huskies.

Tyler Gigliotti led Bradford with 14 points with Donny Pattison adding eight.

Bradford will take on Allegany-Limestone at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the consolation contest.

COUDERSPORT 80, NORTHERN POTTER 26

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Jared Green and Owen Chambers teamed up to score 46 points for Coudersport in an 80-26 North Tier League win over Northern Potter in the Maple Leaf Tournament at Coudersport.

Green led the Falcons with a game-high 25 points with Chambers adding 21.

Holden Cowburn had 17 of Northern Potter’s 26 points.

PURCHASE LINE 56, CLEARFIELD 45

COMMODORE, Pa. – Shamar Campbell led a trio of Purchase Line players in double digits with 14 points as the Red Dragons beat Clearfield, 56-45, in the championship game of the Purchase Line Christmas Tournament.

Melvin Sanchez added 13 points and Jacob Barnett 10 for the home team.

Cade Walker paced Clearfield with 15 points with Reese Wilson adding nine points and nine rebounds. Both players were named to the All-Tournament team.
