KEYSTONE 61, KARNS CITY 47

KARNS CITY — Madison Johnson scored 28 points and the No. 2 Keystone Lady Panthers earned a season split with No. 1 Karns City in a 61-47 win Wednesday night.

Keystone (12-3 overall, 4-2 KSAC-South) outscored Karns City (11-3, 3-1) 22-3 in the second quarter and led 32-16 at halftime. Johnson made 14 of 17 free throws and the Lady Panthers made 22 of 29 from the line overall. Jocelyn Geer and McKenna Shick each scored 11 points.

LeeAnn Gibson and Shanel Preston scored 14 and 13 points respectively for Karns City.

Keystone’s win shakes up the KSAC-South standings, knocking Karns City down into a first-place tie in the loss column with Moniteau. Karns City beat Keystone in Knox, 42-38, back on Dec. 27.

The loss ended a 20-game winning streak for Karns City against District 9 opponents dating back to almost exactly a year ago when it fell to Redbank Valley on Jan. 20, 2014.

REDBANK VALLEY 45, BROOKVILLE 37

BROOKVILLE — Brooke Hinderliter and Becca Dougherty scored 15 and 14 points respectively and Kaelyn Gruver pulled down 18 rebounds to lead the No. 7 Redbank Valley Lady Bulldogs to a 45-37 non-league road win over No. 9 Brookville.

Redbank Valley (12-3) broke a 32-32 tie early in the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run and led the rest of the way. The Lady Bulldogs dominated the boards, outrebounding Brookville (10-4), 43-25. Hinderliter grabbed nine rebounds.

Hali Olson scored 14 points, made eight rebounds and added seven steals for the Lady Raiders.

BRADFORD — No. 3 Elk County Catholic ran its record to 15-0 with a 41-29 District 9 League win at Bradford.

Julia Sweeney and Kirstie Wehler scored 13 and 10 points respectively for the Lady Crusaders, who improved to 5-0 at the midpoint of the D9 League schedule.

A-C VALLEY 51, UNION 37

RIMERSBURG — Four players reached double figures as the No. 13 A-C Valley Valley Falcons beat Union in a KSAC-South matchup, 51-37.

Ellie Thompson led the Lady Falcons (10-4 overall, 2-3 KSAC-South) with 11 points while Morgan Cratty, Erin Logue and Danielle Kaufman each scored 10 points.

Lexey Shick scored 11 points for Union (4-11, 0-6).
