4-8 ROUNDUP: Three Redbank Pitchers Combine for No-Hitter; Bulldog Softball Team Notches First Win

BROCKWAY, Pa. (EYT/D9) – Bryson Bain, Ty Carrier and Cam Wagner combined for a five-inning no-hitter as the Redbank Valley baseball team blanked Brockway, 11-0, Friday afternoon.

Bain worked two innings, striking out none and walking none. Carrier also pitched two innings, fanning two and walking one and Wagner closed it out with a strikeout and a walk in his one inning of work.

Meanwhile, the Bulldog bats did a lot of work.

Leadoff hitter Owen Clouse went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI, Tyler Hetrick went 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored and Bain went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Tate Minich had a pair of hits, including a double, and also drove in two as Redbank pounded out 13 hits.

Wagner also had a double and Carrier went 2-for-2 in the win for the Bulldogs (1-1), who were playing for the first time since a loss to Karns City on Monday.

MONITEAU 12, KEYSTONE 1 – Dawson Wallace scattered two hits over five innings and struck out 10 as the Warriors bested the Panthers in five innings.

Wallace was sharp, needing just 51 pitches to dispatch Keystone. Of those 51 pitches, 41 were for strikes.

Keagan Book had two hits, including a double, and drove in three. Brock Matthews also doubled and had two RBI for Moniteau (1-1).

Seth Apel doubled for Keystone (0-2).

SOFTBALL

Nevada Boyer went 4-for-4 and stole five bases as Redbank Valley edged Brockway, 6-5, for its first win of the season.

LeighAnn Hetrick went 2-for-5 with an RBI and Taylor Ripple went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a run to pace a 13-hit attack for the Bulldogs.

Mackenzie Foringer picked up the win in the circle, striking out seven and walking four in seven innings.

Paytin Polka also doubled for Redbank (1-2).

Danielle Wood, who hadn’t played softball until her senior year this season, went 2-for-4 for Brockway with a double.

Madalynne Heckman also had a pair of hits and Stephanie Sage doubled for the Rovers.

KARNS CITY 21, UNION 2 – Zoe King had two of the Gremlins’ three hits, both doubles, in the three-inning win.

The Gremlins took advantage of 12 walks and five errors by Union.

Rossi McMillen also had a hit and two RBI for Karns City.

Ally Walker got the win, striking out three in two innings. She also knocked in two runs at the plate.

Addie Christie also had a pair of RBI for Karns City (4-1).
