5-13 ROUNDUP: Redbank Valley Baseball Rolls Over North Clarion; Clarion Softball Wins Slugfest Over Oil City

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. (EYT/D9) – Owen Clouse went 3-for-3, including a triple, with two RBI and Breckin Minich and Ty Carrier each drove in three runs as the Redbank Valley baseball team downed North Clarion, 14-3.

North Clarion led 3-1 after two innings, but Redbank put up six runs in the top of the third to seize control.

The Bulldogs put the game away with a five-spot in the fifth.

Redbank had 14 hits on the day.

Cam Wagner and Tyler Hetrick each had doubles for the Bulldogs.

Josh Daum homered for North Clarion.

Carrier got the win for Redbank Valley.

MONITEAU 5, KEYSTONE 1 – Brock Matthews, Brandon Carson and Jakub Obman each had multi-hit games for the Warriors, who broke open a 1-0 game with a pair of runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings.

Carson started the game, striking out eight in three innings. Carson Ritts got the win in relief, giving up one hit in three innings, striking out four.

Keystone managed just two hits in the loss by Seth Apel and Nick Cosper.

SOFTBALL

Payton Simko homered and drove in four and Kylee Beers also went deep as Clarion beat Oil City, 14-10, in a slugfest.

Noel Anthony doubled and Jordan Best tripled for the Bobcats.

Clarion jumped out to an 8-0 lead and were up 12-5 after four.

Maddie Wenner had a pair of doubles and drove in five for Oil City.

FOREST SWEEPS YOUNGVILLE – Emma McFarland went 3-for-3 for Forest in a 15-0 win in the first game and Madison McFarland homered in a 19-0 victory in the second game of a doubleheader.

Maggie Boehme was 3-for-3 in the first game with a pair of RBI and Madison McFarland had a triple in the opener.

Emily Aites was 4-for-4 with two doubles and a pair of RBI in the second game and Izzy Flick had three RBI.
