WEST SUNBURY, Pa. (EYT/D9) — It was the last regular-season game on their home field.
Moniteau’s three seniors made it a memorable one.

Emma Covert threw a four-hit shutout and also went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double; Autumn Stewart went 1 for 3 with a RBI and two runs scored and Brianna Rottman also scored a run as the Warriors’ softball team cooled off red-hot Redbank Valley, 10-0, in six innings on Friday afternoon.
Mariska Shunk also came up big for Moniteau, which scored three runs in the bottom of the second, third and fourth innings and then triggered the mercy rule with a run in the bottom of the sixth.
Shunk went 2 for 2 with three RBIs and two runs scored for the Warriors, who had 11 hits against Redbank Valley.
Alex Stewart had two singles and two RBIs, Addy Williams two hits and Ashley Huffman two RBIs for Moniteau.
Redbank Valley had come into the game on a five-game winning streak.
Quinn White doubled and Mackenzie Foringer, Taylor Ripple and Keyauna Schimp had singles for the Bulldogs.
Foringer got the loss. She gave up 10 runs, six earned, on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings. She struck out two and walked four.
Covert was sharp throughout. Of the 56 pitches she threw, 43 were for strikes.
BASEBALL
Seniors Tate Minich and Tyler Hetrick each doubled and Ty carrier threw five innings of one-hit ball to lead Redbank Valley to a 6-1 win over Brockway.
Minich scored two runs and drove in one. Hetrick went 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Breckin Minich was 2 for 4 with a RBI and Carrier also had two hits for the Bulldogs.
Mason Clouse drove in two runs.
Carrier struck out five and walked just one in his five innings of work. Braylon Wagner pitched the final two innings, giving up one unearned run.
KANE 3, UNION/A-C VALLEY 1
Elijah Everett got the win and Phinn Chamberlain the save for the Wolves.
Everett went 4 1/3 innings, striking out three and walking three. He gave up seven hits, but limited the damage to just one run.
Chamberlain worked the final 2 2/3 innings, giving up just one hit. He struck out three and walked three to earn the save.
Kane managed just four hits. Everett, Isaya Miller and Isiah Smith had RBIs for the Wolves.
Bailey Crissman got the loss. He gave up three unearned runs on three hits and struck out six in 4 2/3 innings.
Sebastian Link and Seth Best each had two hits for Union/A-C Valley.
